Search engine marketing methods

Search engine optimization
Search engine optimization or SEO aims to index and improve rankings for the webpages which are most relevant to the keywords searched for according to the algorithm of each search engine. The relevant pages are returned in search engine results pages (SERPS). It is important to remember that genuine search engine optimizers are basically marketers who keep their target market in mind as much as the search engine algorithms (a lot of which is known purely empirically). Therefore, while we call this process search engine optimization, good marketers will note that their focus is to optimize their web page for the search engine user, who is their target audience. For instance, at one time it was believed that keyword density was an important ranking factor, but today that view is not generally held among SEO professionals. Today, many SEOs recommend writing copy for visitors first, because the web site cannot achieve its marketing objectives with “unnatural” sounding text, laden with keywords. (more…)

Affiliate marketing is a method of promoting web businesses in which an affiliate is rewarded for every visitor, subscriber, customer, and/or sale provided through his/her efforts. Compensation or commission may be made based on a certain value for each exposure (CPM), visit (Pay per click), registrant or new customer (Pay per lead), sale (usually a percentage, Pay per sale or revenue share), or any combination of them. In the music industry, many consumers have begun buying and downloading MP3s over the Internet instead of simply buying CDs. The debate over the legality of duplicating MP3s has become a major concern for those in the music industry. (more…)

Direct marketing

Filed under: direct marketing — admin @ 7:12 pm

Direct marketing is a discipline within marketing that is used when measurable leads, sales, or traffic (retail or web) are the objective. A direct marketing effort is undertaken to generate a specific response — which can be tracked and measured.

Direct marketing can use any medium, including: television, magazines, newspapers, mail, email, banner ads, web sites, pay-per-click ads, radio, billboard, transit ads, package inserts, door hangers, statement inserts, card packs, etc. If the ad is asking the prospect to take a specific action — call an 800 number, visit a web site, return a response card, place an order, complete a survey, etc. — it is a direct marketing effort. Filed under: real estate marketing — admin @ 8:00 pm

by Brandon Cornett

All Real Estate Marketing marketers face challenges, and real estate marketing is no different. But sometimes we have a way of letting our challenges grow “too big for their britches.”

In our minds, hurdles can become impossibilities, when in reality they’re anything but impossible.

To overcome a real estate marketing challenge, you simply have to look at it with a fresh perspective, ask the right questions, and then charge ahead.

With that in mind, here are some of the common Real Estate Marketing challenges I’ve heard real estate agents express over the years, as well as ways to overcome those challenges:

Marketing Challenge #1 – I don’t know anything about Real Estate Marketing.

Every Real Estate Marketing marketer approaches their first project with little or no practical experience. Practical experience comes from, well, practical experience. So in your real estate marketing endeavors, start by gaining a knowledge base through reading and research. Then build on that base through actual experimentation. (more…)

Multi Tier Affiliate marketing Programs

Filed under: affiliate marketing — admin @ 7:22 pm

Some advertisers offer multi-tier programs that distribute commission into a hierarchical referral network of sign-ups and sub-partners. In practical terms: publisher “A” signs up to the program with an advertiser and gets rewarded for the agreed activity conducted by a referred visitor. If publisher “A” attracts other publishers (”B”, “C”, etc.) to sign up for the same program using her sign-up code all future activities by the joining publishers “B” and “C” will result in additional, lower commission for publisher “A”. Past and Current Affiliate Marketing Issues

Filed under: affiliate marketing — admin @ 7:19 pm

In the early days of affiliate marketing, there was very little control over what affiliates were doing, which was abused by a large number of affiliates. Affiliates used false advertisements, forced clicks to get tracking cookies set on users’ computers, and adware, which displays ads on computers. Many affiliate programs were poorly managed.

Email Spam
In its early days many internet users held negative opinions of affiliate marketing due to the tendency of affiliates to use spam to promote the programs in which they were enrolled. As affiliate marketing has matured many affiliate merchants have refined their terms and conditions to prohibit affiliates from spamming. (more…)

By Derek Gehl
October 25, 2006

People are always coming up to me and asking, “What can you tell me to help increase my internet sales?” And all too often, when I ask them to tell me about their business model, I discover they’re selling only one product. So I ask them, “Have you ever considered selling backend products to your customers?” (more…)

Filed under: network marketing — admin @ 7:48 pm

The 1980s saw a major shift as companies began managing the stocking and distribution of products as well as commission payments to their members. This allowed members to focus on selling. Today, most MLM companies act as logistics companies that take orders, ship products and calculate and pay commissions. (more…)
